About Dolce Neve Gelato

Award winning artisanal gelato shop. Owned by an Italian family

American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 12–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Austin is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Went on a weekday at around 7 and they were out of cones. Gelato was decent but very, VERY limited flavors(idk how often they change it but maybe it just wasn’t a great line up this week). Pretty mid to be honest. I’m not one to get plain ol’ vanilla when I go to ice cream shops but absolutely nothing caught my eye.

I truly love Dolce Neve. As an Italian, it's the closest thing I've found in Austin to the taste of home. The quality of the gelato is excellent, and it's one of the few places that genuinely reminds me of what I grew up with. That said, I want to share some feedback as a loyal customer. One of the joys of a great gelateria is knowing that, alongside seasonal creations and new flavors, there will always be a few classic staples you can count on. In Italy, you can walk into almost any gelato shop and expect to find flavors like chocolate, pistachio, hazelnut, stracciatella, and strawberry.I completely understand and appreciate the desire to innovate and rotate flavors. However, this is now the third time I've come specifically to Dolce Neve and found that many of the offerings were variations of ricotta-based flavors, while classics were either missing or altered. On my most recent visit, even the chocolate gelato included malt salt, making it difficult to enjoy a simple, traditional chocolate flavor. If the current approach is working well for the business, that's wonderful. But as a returning customer, I wish there were a more predictable core menu of classic flavors available every

We arrived here after dinner following the good reviews on public forums. They were out of a few flavors by that time. We ended up ordering tiramisu, stracciatella and matcha mascarpone. I found the flavors to be really weak - it almost tasted like sweet milk. Highly disappointed by our visit. The staff were patient and kind with the tasting. The store has beautiful decor. But I wouldn’t recommend it for the price and flavors.

What a great place if you are craving for some ice cream. It’s such a cute spot to have dessert, they have different flavors and other options like affogato, hot chocolate, coffee. The place is small but they have seats inside and outside. The service was great. I tried the Chocolate flavor with ricotta honey pistachio and was SO GOOD! I’ll definitely come back to try more!

Mea culpa! I should have reviewed this charming Italian gelato store called Dolce Neve (sweet ice) a long time ago. I haven't been to this family-owned business for a few years and always appreciated their frozen concoctions. I went back today with a good friend of mine after cinema and was delighted to taste their sweet creations. You should know that all their gelato flavors are made in-house, literally in front of you. I had their dark chocolate with candied orange chunks and creamy macha tea flavor gelato. My friend had the roasted hazelnut and coffee gelato. Both hers and mine were just sweet enough but not too sweet, good strong flavors but not overwhelming, and especially a luscious creamy texture, not the fluffy stuff you may get at other commercial places. Two smiling young ladies were happy to help us. By the way, they also serve real Espresso coffee and other drinks (hot and cold). You are literally sitting in the extension of their kitchen at small, charming wooden tables (there is also some seating outside). As you can see in one of my pictures, that big machine you there is a real Italian ice cream churning machine, the kind you can only find in Italy these days
